This edited volume on Microbial Diversity includes the chapters on different aspects of microbial diversity, its exploration and exploitation. The contents are broadly categorized into two parts. Part-A includes 25 review articles on diverse aspects of microbial diversity and its applications, contributed by subject experts working in their respective areas. These areas include biotechnology, environment, agriculture, food, public health and nanotechnology. These review articles bring out update information available on selected topics and point out the gaps in our knowledge and further project future lines of research. Part-B includes original research papers on contemporary research areas contributed by active researchers. This book caters the long left needs of university teachers, researchers, students, and industrial entrepreneurs.

S. Ram Reddy
Dr. S. Ram Reddy, Professor of Microbiology, has a teaching experience for nearly three decades both at UG and PG levels. He edited and authored more than a dozen books. His areas of research include microbial physiology, bioinoculants and biodiversity of microorganisms. He handled a number of research projects funded by UGC, DBT, CSIR, DST etc. He published more than seventy research papers and guided about a dozen students for their Ph.D. and M.Phil. degrees. He is a fellow of Indian Phytopathological Society and an active member of many academic bodies.
M.A. Singaracharya
Dr. M. A. Singara Charya, Professor of Microbiology has a teaching experience of 31 years at UG & PG levels. His research fields are environmental microbiology, enzyme technology and bioremediation. He has completed 06 research projects funded by UGC, CSIR, DBT and MoEF and published 145 original research articles in national and international journals having good impact factor. He supervised 25 research students for the Ph.D. degrees. He edited and authored 06 books for UG, PG and research students. He is a fellow of Indian Microbiological Society and member of any academic bodies in different state universities. He was honored with Best Teacher Award by Govt. of A.P. (2011).

Dr. S. Girisham, Professor of Microbiology has a teaching experience for nearly two decades at UG & PG levels. His research fields include mycotoxins, H2 production from photosynthetic bacteria. He has handled 6 research projects funded by UGC, DBT, CSIR, AICTE etc. and has published 130 original research papers in national and international journals and guided 12 students for their Ph.D degree. He edited and authored 06 books for UG, PG & research students. He is a fellow of Indian Phytopathological Society, Indian Botanical Society and AP Academy of Sciences and an active member of many academic bodies.
