Margret Steenfatt, geboren 1935, schrieb Romane, Biographien, Drehbücher, Theaterstücke und Hörspiele. Mehrere ihrer Jugendromane entwickelten sich zu Schullektüren. Sie lebte als freie Schriftstellerin in Hamburg, wo sie 2021 starb.
