Dr. Madhur Lata Bhatnagar
The Authoress Dr.(Mrs.) Madhur Lata Bhatnagar is daughter of Sh.Amba Prasad Bhatnagar, Advocate and Smt. Rajesh Kumari Bhatnagar, belonging to Peetal Nagri, U.P. She completed her Sangeet Alankar in Vocal Music and Tabla from Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai, M.Phil and Ph.D from Faculty of Music & Fine Arts, University of Delhi, Delhi. She took regular training in classical music from Pt. Jagdish Mohan Ji of Kirana Gharana, the Senior Radio & TV Artiste.
Her book entitled Bhartiya Sangeet Ka Saundarya Vidhan, (Aesthetics of Indian Music) and Lalit Kalaon Ka Saundarya Vidhan are published by Hindi Madhyam Karyanvaya Nideshalaya, University of Delhi, Delhi, with the aid of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
The Authoress was interviewed and some of her devotional songs were broadcast by BBC London in Aug. 1987. The Authoress’ Research papers and articles are published in the leading Music Journals in India. The Authoress has given Lecturer-Demonstration on ‘Aesthetics’ in general and ‘Aesthetics of Music’ in particular at different universities and institutions. She is a Music Composer as well as singer in Indian Classical and light styles. She has composed music for Audio and Video recordings. These are broadcast from AIR and telecast from National and International T.V. channels of Door Darshan. Some recordings can be seen on youtube website.
The another book written by the Authoress is entitled ‘Shastreeya Aur Sangam Sangeet Ke Rång Kavya Ke Sång’. This is published by ‘Chaukhambha Publishers, Varanasi. In this book the compositions are in classical and light styles. Lyrics of great poets like : Tulsidas, Surdas, Kabirdas, Meerabai, Brahmanand are set in Raga-sangeet in classical Forms. Besides, some patriotic songs, devotional songs etc. are also set to tunes in light-style.
The Authoress has given her vocal recital for prestigious Tansen Samaroh, Gwalior in 2006, also for Gandhi Bhawan, University of Delhi, Habitat World, Sargam Mandir ‘Raag Ranjani’, Sangeet Natak Akademy, Delhi, Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata, Vidya Bharti Teachers Training Programme and some others. Gandhi Sahitya Sabha, Lok Kala Manch, Navodit Kalakar Samiti, Delhi have honoured her with ‘Sangeet Ratna’. She has presented research paper in International Conference organized by ‘Kriti Kala Sansthan’, Agra. Two research papers are published in Shiv Ranjani of Sargam Mandir in 2013-2014.
- She has taught Music in Delhi University Colleges for many years.
- She has composed music for very many patriotic songs which are broadcast and telecast from AIR and Doordarshan.
- For Commonwealth Games 2010 she composed songs which were broadcast from AIR and FM Radio, University of Delhi.
