Though the small town is fairly accepting of magic, two families have been locked in a vicious feud spanning generations. Unfortunately for both families, they’re about to become in-laws! Amethyst and Tok are excited to wed in a few weeks and somehow Mia must ensure the event is flawless.

But when she goes to pick up paperwork from the couple’s previous wedding planner, Mia discovers the woman murdered in an apparent attempt to stop the contentious union. Now, not only is Mia a prime suspect, as the new planner she may also be the killer’s next target. Backed by her squad, her charms—literal and figurative—and a protective amulet from her Grans, it’s up to Mia to save the star-crossed couple’s wedding, her professional reputation…and maybe even her life!

Three Tainted Teas by Lynn Cahoon is a spirited tale. I enjoy visiting Magic Springs to catch up with Mia, Christine, Grans, and the other characters. There is a great cast of characters in this series. They are warm, friendly people who are slightly quirky. Mia Malone is a kitchen witch who has taken an old school building and turned it into her home plus the base of Mia Morsel’s, her catering business. In Three Tainted Teas, Mia is asked to become a wedding planner at the last minute for the nuptials of Amethyst and Tok. Mia is soon glad that she charged double her normal fee when meets the combatting families. It turns out that Tok’s family are shifters. Neither family is happy with the union. When Chelsea, the former wedding planner, is found dead in her room, it is obvious someone wants to stop the nuptials. Mia has no intention of letting that happen despite controlling parents, manipulations, and threats. Three Tainted Teas is the third book in The Kitchen Witch Mysteries. It can be read as a standalone, but I believe it is better to read in order (or at least read One Poison Pie). It will allow you to get to know the characters and the history of the school. I like Lynn Cahoon’s writing style. It is lighthearted and casual (makes for good reading). The characters are like old friends. I picked up Three Tainted Teas and finished it within a few hours. I like the humor sprinkled throughout the story and I love the paranormal elements. The whodunit has a large suspect pool since many of the guests and family members do not want the couple to wed. There are clues to help readers solve the crime as well as misdirection. There are threats and sabotage that leaves Mia scared but determined to make sure the wedding takes place. I thought the murder was a snap to solve, but I kept reading to see what would happen next (to see if this wedding would occur or not). There is a hint at the end of what will occur in the next A Kitchen Witch Mystery. Three Tainted Teas is a howling good time with a fly-by-night friend, wedding planning woes, a departed planner, feuding families, terrorizing threats, a battling book, mouthwatering meals, and one fatigued kitchen witch.

I am always tentative about approaching a new series by and author who books I love, but by this 3rd full novel in the Kitchen Witch Mysteries all the books and excellent novellas are a must buy and an-if-I-can-get-my-hands-on-an-ARC-I-am-thrilled series. As a personal reviewer I am pretty late on the list, but I MADE IT. Yes, I will buy a copy, too! This series is a definite reread and Three Tainted Teas is the perfect example of the reason Lynn Cahoon's books are regular rereads for me. Mia Malone is intelligent, fun, and kind-hearted so naturally she draws people who her that I can love. We got to spend more time with Abigail whom I already enjoyed, and I had been hoping for that. The mystery revolves around a wedding, and we actually get to be part of the preparation as well as part of the discussion about a murder who may be trying to stop that wedding. Mia does less actual sleuthing that usual but that is fine with me. She was much too busy making sure this, her first experience as a wedding planner, went all well. LOVED IT. My thanks to NetGalley and Kensington, for allowing me to read and review the ARC to the delightful tale. #NetGalley #KenstingtonBooks #ThreeTaintedTeas #LynnCahoon
