This holiday romance is a charming and delightful read that would make the Grinch’s heart swell to 100 times in normal size with Christmas spirit. Luke and Mary are two strong, captivating characters that easily draw readers to them as they become caught up in a romance that proves that opposites attract. They both have some emotional issues that readers can’t help but understand to overcome if they want to achieve that happily ever after. The story is fast paced and bit too short, but is full of everything that makes a romance and everything that stands for the true meaning of Christmas which delights readers while Luke, who may just be too good to be true inspires warmth and love throughout the story.

I love Marietta, Montana! It is my adopted hometown. I have no problem that this town is not real because to me and so many others this town feels real. And one of the reasons that it does is because of authors like Kaylie Newell and her latest book Luke's Gift. Luke is one of 3 brothers who have come home to help raise their half sister after the death of their mom. This is the second book in the Harlow series and I have to say one that had me with feel good goose bumps throughout the entire book. Ex Military man, now police officer comes back to town and with the help of his 14 year old step sister who I got to know in Tanner's Promise they arrange to be "Secret Santa" for the town. While he is planning this Mary the one of the town's reporters decides to get to know him better and write an article on the Hometown Hero. But more that that Mary and Luke have sparks that sizzle between them. You really should read both books but its not necessary to enjoy this one. I can not express how much I love this town and this family, The Harlows. I invite you to not only spend Christmas in Marietta but consider being a Secret Santa yourself if possible this year. You don't have to do something big... Something little might touch some one just as much.

A must read this holiday season. Luke has returned home after leaving his military career. He is now a police officer in Marietta. Mary is a local reporter f the town newspaper, wanting to do a story on the home town hero, which Luke does not believe he is one. As Luke and Mary get to know each other, their friendship develops into so much more. Luke is keeping a secret though, but soon the talk around town id , who is the Secret Santa. Luke is one of my all time favorite book boyfriends. He has such a big heart, from being the big brother to his half sister, Maddie, being the Secret Santa and helping Mary decorate sugar cookies. Loved the slow development of the relationship of Mary and Luke, so perfect for each other. With some many holiday traditions in Marietta, I wish it was a real town. I highly recommend this wonderful Christmas story. Can't wait for the next story.
