Elodie and Jaeger have the perfect chemistry in this dark romance. He's The Big Bad Wolf that has set his eyes on her, and she signs on the dotted line. The way this story progresses had me on the edge of my seat, and the dangers seemed never ending. However Jaeger is towards everyone else compared to how he is with Elodie is a complete 180. I loved this story set in a secret society, work billionaires and millionaires all around. Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This book is described as a dark romance but it is so much more. Jaeger takes Elodie as his own, caring for her and protecting her. Wouldn't we all like a man so romantic. And the sex is so steamy. Still, there is a dark side to the story. And Jaeger's twin is not so excited about his new playmate. The book is fast paced and entertaining, and yes, a little dark. But Jaeger is just...WOW! The action and heat begin early in this story and rarely slow down. Elodie and Jaeger meet in a very unique way that quickly leads to the darker parts of the plot. I liked how the push-pull exploration of their relationship eventually revealed their thoughts, desires and even fears around their situation. Overcoming poverty, hardships and trauma to embrace and fight for family by choice were all themes that stood out for me. That, and a renewed appreciation for Hallmark Christmas rom coms. ☺️.
