This book is probably one of the most emotionally devastating books I've ever read. It started out with big ugly tears, and ended with happy tears. I was completely all over the place. At one point, I had to put it down, and walk away for a couple of hours, just to get myself back under control. I've read books that made me cry, and books that made me laugh. I've even read some books that made me laugh and cry at the same time. The impact that this book had, well, let's just say, it's gonna stick with me for a very long time. Rome was a professional football player, but left it all behind, without telling anyone why. His struggle is heartbreaking, and left him a shell of what he once was. The only thing that kept him from completely loosing it was his MC. And a girl with a horrible past, and an even more tragic present. We were introduced to Rome in Tyler and Reagan's story. We learned a bit of what he was dealing with then. In this book, we are introduced to the other guys in the Bear Bottom MC, as well as their back story. We are given hints of things to come in the next books of the series. I've got a feeling we are going to love them just as much as the characters in previous books. But this story.....I'm not quite sure how to put into words how much I loved it. As tragic and heart wrenching as it was, there was also a lot of hope, and love, friendship and family mixed in there too. Be prepared, you will definitely need plenty of tissues to get through this one. There is no avoiding it, but it is totally worth the tears!
