This book was amazingly well-written and well-researched; a perfect synthesis of organizational leadership theories and practices with just plain ol' good common sense and a strong family ethic. A must read for the millennial, the Gen Zer, the Baby Boomer, and the Gen Xer. Much to learn and share across generations. And therein is the point: communication, communication, communication. Loved the points about leading with values and mission, integrating strategy into family organization, leading financial workshops within the family, and organizing family meetings with an agenda and reflection session for participants. It could be easy to scoff at this book because of the title. I'd urge the common reader not to. This book is a gem and I do hope that it continues to be passed down in my own family. Thanks LDT! Honored to have the opportunity to read and digest all of your knowledge, wisdom, and key advice.

About the author

Linda Davis Taylor is the CEO and Chairman of Clifford Swan Investment Counsel in Pasadena, California. A participant in a fourth generation family business, Linda is a frequent speaker on wealth transition, family governance, and philanthropy. In addition to her investment counsel career, she has had over twenty-five years experience in senior leadership positions at Emory University, Claremont McKenna College, Amherst College, and Scripps College. Linda has served as a trustee for numerous educational and non-profit organizations and is a co-founder of a private foundation. She and her husband are the parents of two adult daughters.
