About this ebook

Her sister’s murder destroyed her world.

Will hints of what happened lead to deadly truths?

Oklahoma City. Lauren is happy. A brainy overachiever who always does what’s expected, the sixteen-year-old high schooler takes her younger sister trick-or-treating on Halloween night. But when the little girl disappears during a moment of distraction, Lauren finds the evening turning into horror after the search party locates her dead body.

Gabriel is devastated. As Lauren’s oldest friend and the one who uncovered her sister in the trunk of a car, the grieving teenager blames Lauren and ghosts her. Trying to go on with his life and even crushing on a cute guy in class, he’s terrified when the police arrest him for the murder.

Feeling the loss of their lifelong friendship, Lauren is confused by prophetic nighttime visions that reveal disturbing and cryptic clues to the mysterious murder—and more. And though Gabriel is able to post bail, he’s pulled back into contact with Lauren and it’s discovered they are both dreaming of events leading up to the murder…

Can Lauren and Gabriel work together to bring killers to justice?

Their subsequent books, Ugly, Always the New Girl, Binding Off, and Uglier, were released in 2022 and 2023. Finding Frances and Always the New Girl won several indie awards and Ugly was selected as the Honor book for SCBWI’s Spark Award in the Books for Older Readers category for 2022.
