''Donald' is book three of Kathi S. Barton's "Dalton's Kiss" series and it takes picks up right where book two, 'Stanley' left off. Circe J. Montgomery, aka C. J., received a phone call in the middle of the night from someone she assumed had the wrong number. Turned out her niece Rachel was found beaten and in bad shape on the side of the road and the man, Donald, who was a very old vampire, had found her and called the last number dialed on her cell phone. After exchanging the necessary information, they met at the local hospital. It turned out to be a case of mistaken identity and the intended victim was supposed to be C. J. The pace is quick, the characters are relatable, both strong-willed, with personalities that blended so well together. The queen of the Earth, Aurora makes an appearance along with Melisandre, queen of the fairies and we learn a few secrets from that realm as well. It's a bit of a whodunit as all of them join forces to find the person or persons trying to harm not only C.J. but unravel the plot that's in the works to have Bancroft killed as well. This one is not to be missed. Of course, I recommend this book. It's well worth the five-star rating.
