About this ebook

With the Locust Horde apparently destroyed, Jacinto's survivors have begun to rebuild human society on their island stronghold. Raiding pirate gangs take a toll - but it's nothing that Marcus Fenix and the Gears can't handle. Then the terrifying life-forms they thought they'd left behind - the Lambent, creatures even the Locust feared - begin to advance across the planet.

Gears and gangs must fight side by side to stop their deadliest enemy yet, falling back on the savage tactics of another bloody siege: Anvil Gate.

so although I enjoy all the Gears books, this one, told partly from Baird's point of view, has to be my favourite. It's the second of a three-book story arc which chronicles what happens in the intervening time between the end of game 2 (Jacinto sinks) and the beginning of game 3 (humanity living on ships on the Seran ocean). Things are changing rapidly for Delta Squad: they now face two different groups of enemies, one of whose motivations - and indeed the reason for their existence - are as yet unknown...

Awesome book, ties in well with the games and is really well written. Love Karen Traviss' work. A movie needs to be made

Possibly the best of the GOW books, Travis so got it spot on. The bits with Baird are the best.
