About the author

Robert J. Harrison, MD, MPH is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco where he has been on the faculty in the Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine for more than 30 years. He has diagnosed and treated thousands of patients with work- and environmentally-related injuries and diseases; designed and implemented workplace medical monitoring programs; help developed new workplace safety and health standards; and investigated numerous outbreaks of occupational illnesses.

Joseph LaDou, MS, MD, is the founding editor of International Journal of Occupational and
Environmental Health. He served as Director of the International Center for OM at the UCSF and Director of Advances in OEM, a CME course that trained thousands of U.S. and international physicians in OM.
