About the author
John Lukacs is the acclaimed author of more than thirty works of history, including Five Days in London; The Duel; The End of the Twentieth Century and the End of the Modern Age; Churchill: Visionary, Statesman, Historian; A Thread of Years; Historical Consciousness; and The Future of History. For many years he taught at Chestnut Hill College, and he has held visiting professorships at Columbia, Johns Hopkins, Tufts, and the University of Pennsylvania. Born in Budapest, Lukacs came to the United States in 1946. He lives in Pennsylvania.
