Jochen Schmidt lebt in Berlin. Er tritt jeden Donnerstag bei der Lesebühne Chaussee der Enthusiasten auf, die er 1999 mitgegründet hat. Er debütierte 2000 mit dem Band "Triumphgemüse" (C.H.Beck). Zuletzt erschienen: "Meine wichtigsten Körperfunktionen" (C.H.Beck) und "Schmidt liest Proust" (Voland & Quist).
