Wir reisten zum Kasabonika Airport und trafen auf die in der Gegend ansässigen Indianer. Ein richtiges Gefängnis gab es nicht, Dempsey wurde in einer Lagerhalle festgehalten. Da das Gebiet nur per Luft zu erreichen war, beschlossen wir, den Gefangenen zum 445 Meilen entfernten Flughafen Winnipeg zu fliegen. "Nur ein Katzensprung", sagte unser Pilot. Doch da zog eine Sturmfront auf - und wir stürzten mitten in der Wildnis ab!
