What I love most about second chance romances is that the characters have a history together. And boy, what a history these two have! I heart Rock and Quinn so much! Their chemistry was electric and their page time together was equally delightful and exasperating! A perfect pair! I loved the small-town setting where everyone knows everyone else's business. It was quite entertaining when Rock and Quinn started spending time together, giving the townsfolk plenty to gossip about! I will say though, it didn’t take long for me to warm up to Rock. He was so amazing with Quinn’s son Max! Hold on to your ovaries ladies! There were so many wonderful secondary characters that really added so much warmth and apple pie to the storyline! Apple pie in the sense that it’s both comforting and always reminds you of home. Annnnd now I’m hungry 😊 CAUGHT UP IN A COWBOY is everything I want in my romances and so much more! I hadn’t read a book by Ms Marts and am so glad I decided to give her a try. Because I absolutely loved this story. The book centers around Rockford/Rock James and Quinn Rivers. These two were best friends in their childhood and later sweethearts in HS. When he gets a scholarship and a chance to play hockey , he leaves Quinn behind thinking she wouldn’t want to leave town . Quinn is left heartbroken and after a one nightstand with a no good guy, she ends up pregnant. Now an NHL star, Rock is home recuperating after an injury. Somehow they end up together, thinking to keep it light, since Quinn knows that she will be left once he recovers. But as they get more serious, a person from her past comes back to create problems. It’s a story about second chances in love and in life. About realizing the priorities in life and giving love as adults another chance. It’s a story about family, hope and forgiveness. A story that is engaging , with complex characters and promises of many more great stories in this series. I was gifted this ARC copy by Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca. Oh my, what's not to love about a hockey star/cowboy. I have fallen in Love with Rock, watch out Quinn. Oh, I guess it's too late for that. Rock has returned home with an injury from the NHL, when he sees his old flame from high school, Quinn. He soon realizes the mistake that he made years ago and now to convince Quinn, that this is the real thing. Loved these characters!! Rock is just so hunky and a very giving person. Quinn is a single mom but very independent and her son, Max is her number one. Max just steals the story, I just fell in love with him. This story will leave you smiling, ok I did shed a tear or two. I highly recommend this book.
