Jacob Baker is trying to rebuild the relationship with his teenage son, Gene, and come to grips with the horrific drug-related death of his ex-wife, Heather. She is a back door conduit of information about the re-investigation. To expand his efforts from the original murders to interstate drug distribution, Flaherty enlists the assistance of federal investigators who follow the money into the temple of power. Jacob suffers blackmail threats and the kidnapping of his son. Tory has a solution.

His business career started in New York and was focused on advertising and marketing. He has two adult sons, is retired, and lives on the Gulf Coast.
