“I’m sure you’ll find someone better.” Deciding to give her a not-so subtle hint, he grabbed her hand and stared right into her dark chocolate eyes.
She flushed under his gaze. “Ji-hu…” She swallowed. In a quiet voice, she added, “I’m guessing you never invited Ken and Mom over for dinner.”
“Smart girl,” he breathed, moving his mouth closer to hers.
“We’re brother and sister,” she whispered, his lips a mere inch from hers.
“Stepbrother and stepsister.” He kissed her, tasting cola and cherry lip gloss. A thrill went down his spine as she kissed him back. He let out a small growl when she pulled away.
“But…but…” Her face grew redder. “I just broke up with Jonathan…”
“You should have broken up with him sooner.” He twirled strands of her hair around his finger. “Do you know how long I’ve waited for you?”
