Army Sargent Rhea Griffin has a bug problem. Three years ago, alien insects the size of cars landed on earth and began eating every scrap of metal they could find. Now Rhea and their squad survive in the woods, cutting out a place for humans in a Roach-occupied planet.
Their Captain has a new recon mission: approach the Roach nest that has been built on top of a local Navy base and determine what the bugs are doing now that all the metal has been carved out of the town. And what Rhea finds makes everyone nervous.

Tami Veldura is an enby/aro/ace author of queer fiction. They have published short stories in anthologies Fresh Starts, Hauntings, Love Among The Thorns, Love Is Like A Box Of Chocolates, the magazine Galaxy's Edge, and they are a contributing member of the scifi magazine Boundary Shock Quarterly. They publish new work every month, crossing every genre, but always featuring queer characters and found families.
