Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh is a distinguished academic and researcher, currently serving as the Director in Charge of the Centre for Comparative Religions and Civilizations at the Central University of Jammu. With a career spanning over a decade, Dr. Singh has held key positions, including Development Officer for the Pali-Prakrit Scheme at the Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi (2013–2016), and Consultant for the Second Sanskrit Commission, Government of India. He also serves as the Honorary Director (Academics) at the Global Buddhist Foundation.

Dr. Singh’s expertise and leadership have earned him nominations to several prestigious academic bodies, including the School of Indic Studies at the University of Gujarat, Ahmedabad; the Research Council at Sanchi University of Buddhist Indic Studies; and the Academic Council, School Board, and Board of Studies at institutions such as Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishvavidyalaya (Wardha), the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, and the Central University of Jammu.

A renowned scholar in the fields of Hindu Studies, Buddhist Studies, Diaspora and Transnational Cultural Studies, Translation Studies, and Indian Intellectual Traditions, Dr. Singh has lectured extensively on these subjects. His prolific contributions to academia include three published books, over thirty research articles, and supervision of four major government-funded research projects.

Dr. Singh’s contributions to the Indian Knowledge System have been recognized with numerous accolades, including the AKK Award presented by the AKK Trust in 2021 and the prestigious Atal Bihari Vajpayee IPSA National Diaspora Award by the Indian Political Science Association (IPSA) in 2024, for his groundbreaking work in Indian Diaspora and Transnational Cultural Studies.

With his depth of knowledge, scholarly rigor, and commitment to advancing Indic traditions, Dr. Singh continues to shape the discourse on Indian Knowledge Systems and their global relevance.
