Volume 2 of the Guitar Class Method focuses on melodic development and solo playing and provides a vast collection of solos, duets and quartets in multiple styles including rock, blues, classical, Gospel, and folk using flatpick and fingerstyle technique. A special quartet section presents the opportunity for intermediate-level players to experience ensemble playing. Presents individual segments on Chord Strumming Melody; Country style accompaniment;Bluegrass Style Solos; Blues and Contemporary Sounds; Fingerstyle Solos and Country Blues Solos; Note Reading and Melodic Development; Guitar Quartets; Note Reading Solos in Various Styles; and Melody-Chord Solo Playing. Written in standard notation and tablature with chords presented in both diagram and photo format. The individual segments can be used concurrently in any order.

Par autoru

William Bay received his undergraduate degree in business at Washington University in St. Louis and his MBA at the University of Missouri. He played trumpet and guitar professionally for many years and has authored hundreds of books on music education and performance. As president of Mel Bay Publications he has produced thousands of books dealing with an eclectic array of musical styles, genres and instruments and performed on many audio and video recordings. He is an accomplished composer and arranger. His books have sold in the millions. He was recently inducted into the Missouri Music Hall of Fame.
