Perihal e-buku ini

First published in 1955, this book follows on from author Max Freedom Long’s previous publications on Huna magic, here providing the reader with a workbook to strengthen their skills through daily practice.

Long offers powerful teachings that are reinforced with exercises and affirmations at the end of each chapter—teachings that were passed down verbally through the ages by Polynesian kahunas, or “Keepers of the Secret,” and preserved by those Long had met. By practicing the lessons in this book, the reader can truly grow in positive spiritual ways.

Max Freedom Long is a masterful storyteller and employs many inspiring lessons and true stories that demonstrate the power of Huna at work. Anyone with a general interest in Huna magic will benefit from this powerful book. It represents the next step for those who want to benefit from practical instructions, now at their disposal, and move beyond having a general reading interest in the subject.

Perihal pengarang

Max Freedom Long (October 26, 1890 - September 23, 1971) was an American novelist and New Age author.

Born in 1890 in Sterling, Colorado to Toby Albert Long and his wife Jessie Diffendaffer, he attended Los Angeles State Normal School from 1914-1916 and graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in General Education. After graduating, he worked briefly as an auto-mechanic in Los Angeles.

In 1917, he moved to Hawaii to teach in elementary schools. He moved to Honolulu in 1920 and lived there until 1932, later owning a photography store.

In the mid-1930s, he relocated to Orange County, California and Long began to focus on writing books inspired by his experiences in Hawaii. He devoted the rest of his life to creating theories about the Native Hawaiians’ practice of what he termed magic, and teaching those theories through the sale of books and newsletters.

He called his compilation of teachings Huna, meaning “hidden secret” and derived from the word kahuna, who were priests and master craftsmen who ranked near the top of the social scale. He published a series of books on Huna starting in 1936, and founded an organization called the Huna Fellowship in 1945.

Long stopped issuing bulletins in late 1970 due to poor health. He ended his own life at his home in Vista, California on September 23, 1971 at the age of 80, following months of suffering with bone cancer.
