About this ebook

In a world where magic is power, Daniel Blackland must pull off the most daring heist of all to save his son.

Dragon Coast is the thrilling sequel to Greg Van Eekhout's California Bones and Pacific Fire. Daniel's adopted son Sam, created from the magical essence of the defeated Hierarch of Southern California, is lost—consumed by the great Pacific firedrake secretly assembled by Daniel's half-brother, Paul.

But Sam is still alive and aware, trapped in magical form inside the rampaging dragon as it periodically torches Los Angeles neighborhoods. Daniel has a daring plan to rescue Sam, involving the rarest of substances, axis mundi, pieces of the bones of the great dragon at the center of the Earth.

Posing as his half-brother, Daniel must boldly venture to the kingdom of Northern California to compete for the position of Lord High Osteomancer. Only when the Northern Hierarch raises her scepter to confirm Daniel in the throne room at Golden Gate Park will he have a chance to steal the axis mundi under her watchful gaze. And that's just the first obstacle in this high-stakes magical heist.

Filled with action, intrigue, and a vividly imagined alternate California, Dragon Coast is an enthralling fantasy adventure that will keep you spellbound until the last page.
