L'umanità pervertita vorrebbe fare a meno di Dio, o meglio, della morale. Vorrebbe distruggere tutto ciò che è freno alle passioni e controllo all'operato. Il pensiero di un Essere Supremo, che tutto vede e tutto deve ripagare, è troppo molesto. Conviene quindi ai cattivi combattere contro Dio; ma siccome non possono vederlo ed abbatterlo direttamente, si avventano come cani idrofobi contro i suoi Ministri, cioè i Sacerdoti. «Abbasso i Preti!» «Morte alle vesti nere!» si grida alle volte sulle piazze, si scrive anche sui muri e sulle testate dei giornali! Davanti a sì dolorosa constatazione, sento il bisogno d'impugnare la penna e formulare un modesto lavoro, che sia di monito ai cattivi e di luce ai buoni.
