About the author
GERTRUDE SCHMEIDLER, Ph.D. (1912–2009), was a professor in the psychology department at City College of the City University of New York. In 1964 she was awarded the William McDougall Award for distinguished work in parapsychology. She is author of more than a hundred scientific articles and two books: ESP (Yale University Press, 1958), which she co-authored with Robert A. McConnell, and Extrasensory Perception ( Aldine-Atherton, 1969).
