About the author

Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849-1924) was an English-American playwright and author of numerous popular novels and short stories. She is best remembered for her classic children's stories, such as The Secret Garden, and for her adult novels, such as Little Lord Fauntleroy and A Little Princess. Born in England, she immigrated to the United States at the age of 24. Her works have been adapted for stage and screen, with several of her stories becoming Hollywood classics.
