About this ebook

Possessive. Obsessive. Forbidden. And he’s been hers all along.

Control. That’s what I live by.

My store. My rules. My life.

At least until Jessa Thorne walks back into Hard Timber.

My best friends’ little sister. The one woman I’ve never been able to look at without wanting.

She’s chaos and fire where I’m order and rules. She pushes. I push back harder.

She thinks I don’t notice how she’s changing my world... brightening my dusty old outfitter, shaking the walls I’ve spent years building. She thinks I’ll cave if she smiles at me long enough.

She’s wrong.

Because crossing that line means losing her brothers... they're like family... and I don’t take risks I can’t control.

But then I kiss her.

One reckless, rough taste of the woman I’ve tried too damn long to resist.

Now all I can think about is her mouth, her laugh, her body tangled in mine.

They call me The Warden of Hard Timber.

But the truth is, I’m already a prisoner...

And Jessa is the only obsession I’ll never break free from.

This is another good story in the new "Hard Timber Mountain Men" series. "Six names. One blog post. And a town full of flannel, grudges, and emotionally unavailable men who just got called out." Now the men have something to prove. This is a fairly short and quick read about Harlan and Jessa, his best friends’ little sister. This is such a good story with some very entertaining bits, witty banter, cuteness, sweet and stormy bits.

This short story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a sweet and steamy, small town, brothers’ best friend, contemporary romance. I enjoyed Jessa’s confidence and willingness to take a risk. I empathised with Harlan’s fears and concerns, though his stubbornness frustrated me somewhat. I enjoyed seeing him engage with the world and reach out for Jessa. I enjoyed the engaged and supportive secondary characters. I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my honest review.

Such a sweet story of a fearful man wanting what he believed to be unconditional happiness but with his best friends little sister. The patience our female lead character shows this truly heartbreaking man was amazing. Really a great short story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

When Eve London was a girl, she wanted to be a trapeze artist. Instead, she grew up to be like most women–a juggler–trying to keep bunches of balls in the air.

Now she’s a USA Today Bestselling Author who spends her days writing about the kind of men she likes – sexy, shameless, and just a little rough around the edges.
