About the author
Ephraim Kishon wurde 1924 in Budapest als Ferenc Hoffmann geboren. Er überlebte die Deportation in ein slowakisches Arbeitslager und konnte 1945 auf einem Gefangenentransport fliehen. 1949 gelang ihm die Flucht aus dem kommunistischen Ungarn nach Israel – dort begründete er seine Weltkarriere als Satiriker. Kishon verstarb 2005.
