This is a comprehensive book on emotional intelligence, a conjoint of different abilities. The book provides researchers, students, and professionals a comprehensive introduction, applications, benefits, and challenges for all aspects of emotional intelligence. The authors were motivated to write this book partly due to the lack of a single source of reference on the subject. Hence, the book will help a beginner to have an introductory knowledge about emotional intelligence. The main objective of the authors is to provide a concise treatment that is easily digestible for each aspect of EI. It is hoped that the book will be useful to practicing psychologies, social scientists, and business managers.

A. Matthew N. O. Sadiku received his B. Sc. degree in 1978 from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville, TN in 1982 and 1984 respectively. He is presently a professor emeritus of electrical and computer engineering at Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View, TX. He is the author of over 870 professional papers and over 80 books including Elements of Electromagnetics (Oxford University Press, 7th ed., 2018), Fundamentals of Electric Circuits (McGraw-Hill, 7th ed., 2021, with C. Alexander), Computational Electromagnetics with MATLAB (CRC Press, 4th ed., 2019), Principles of Modern Communication Systems (Cambridge University Press, 2017, with S. O. Agbo), and Emerging Internet-based Technologies (CRC Press, 2019). In addition to the engineering books, he has written Christian books including Secrets of Successful Marriages, How to Discover God’s Will for Your Life, and commentaries on all the books of the New Testament Bible. Some of his books have been translated into French, Korean, Chinese (and Chinese Long Form in Taiwan), Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. B. Olaniyi D. Olaleye received his B. Eng. degree in 1989 from University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria, and his M.Sc. degree from University of Lagos, Lagos State in 1997. From 1990 to 1992, he was a Project Engineer at Ibcon and Associates in Nigeria. He worked as Head of Engineering Operations at Horlan Company Limited from 1993 to 1997. He joined Mountliegh Nigeria Limited, an oil and gas services company and worked as Civil and Structural Project Manager from 1997 to 2002. He joined National Engineering and Technical Company (A subsidiary of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation ~ NNPC) and worked as Lead Civil / Structural Engineer from 2002 to 2007. From 2007 to 2016, he joined RasGas Company Limited in Doha, Qatar, and worked as Advisor Offshore Structures Engineering. He is currently a PhD candidate and a research employee at Texas Southern University. He has published 49 professional papers in international journals. He is a registered professional civil engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
