Really enjoyed this series, fast read and my favorite was the 3rd book. Sorry that I have to wait untill 2022 to get the next installment ! There was some steam, but I wish it was not such 1 point of view. I would have loved to know the real thoughts of Erik. I did not enjoy any of the animal sacrifices but understand that was part of idealogy of the times. Always a go to for this author ! I love the writings of this author. This series is an attention getter and keeper. I can see some of the more realistic details which come out in this series for the time period. You will feel the brutality of the raids, betrayal, revenge, desire, love and a few surprises. The characters are brought to life and the storyline is strong and within your minds eye you will be able to envision the surroundings and the storyline as it unfolds. I went from one to another immediately wanting to see what happens next. I do recommend this series. I was gifted an ARC copy of this book and this is my voluntarily and honest review. This is a set of connected books all involving Elswyth. She is one tough woman and I'm grateful that I live in this time period. #1 Viking Thunder, this one is short and hard to handle, I'm a suckered for true love and Elswyth didn't have it with Eirik. I hated that he slept with other women. #2 Viking Wolf has Eirik redeeming himself. #3 Viking Beast is both heart breaking and amazing all at the same time.
