Emerging Trends in Phytotherapy of Cancer is an essential reference that explores the multifaceted role of medicinal plants in combating cancer. The book covers a broad range of interconnected topics including ethnomedicinal plants used in cancer by tribes and aboriginals, herbs used in Ayurvedic medicine for cancer, integrated approaches of modern and conventional drugs, anti-cancerous secondary metabolites, plant-based anticancer drugs approved by FDA and WHO, toxicity to humans, and the role of emerging technologies such as the applications of nanotechnology and artificial intelligence. Part two discusses the ethnomedicinal uses of plants in cancer and the role of Ayurvedic herbal medicines in cancer. Part three incorporates the role of secondary metabolites in cancer treatment. Part four elaborates on the plant-based drugs recommended by FDA/WHO. Part five concerns the human phytotoxicity of secondary metabolites, and part six describes the role of emerging nanotechnologies and artificial intelligence in phytotherapy drug delivery and treatment. Targeted at researchers, healthcare professionals, and advanced students in related fields, this book provides technical and in-depth knowledge, contributing to ongoing advancements in cancer treatment. Prof. Mahendra Rai is a UGC Basic Science Research Faculty Fellow and former Head of the Department of Biotechnology at Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, India. He is currently a senior visiting professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Federal University of Piaui (UFPI), Brazil. His areas of expertise include microbial biotechnology and nanobiotechnology, focusing on the green synthesis of metal nanoparticles using fungi and their applications as nanoantimicrobials against pathogenic microbes. His research is interdisciplinary, integrating microbial biotechnology with nanotechnology. Professor Rai has received several prestigious awards, including the Father T.A. Mathias Award from the All India Association for Christian Higher Education and the Medini Award from the Government of India. He has participated in multiple international collaborations and has held visiting positions at various institutions, including the University of Geneva (Switzerland), Debrecen University (Hungary), and Nicolaus Copernicus University (Poland).

Dr. Shandesh Bhattarai is a Research Scientist at the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Nepal. He is a dedicated researcher with over thirteen years of postdoctoral experience in plant science, in addition to seven years of prior research in the same field. He also has two years of university-level teaching experience. Dr. Bhattarai is widely published in reputed plant science journals and brings expertise in applied ethnobotany, ethnopharmacology, plant systematics, plant taxonomy, bioassays, invasive alien plant species, and biodiversity conservation. His work emphasizes the integration of traditional knowledge with modern scientific approaches.
