Pitch Black: A FREE Romantic Thriller

I was torn between giving this a 3 or a 4. The characters are nuanced and well developed, fabulous in short. The plot is well paced and fulsome, again fabulous, so you can perhaps appreciate my ire when I realized I was being left on the edge of a cliff with no HEA. if authors insist on writing cliffhangers they should warn readers in the preview so they wouldn't wasted their time. And now that I know the next one is likely to leave me just as dissatisfied I will know not to bother. It's a shame really because otherwise it is so well written. How would authors like it if we only paid 2/3 of the price and never made a full payment until the whole series was finished? If it hadn't been been for the cliffhanger I'd have given it 5 stars easily but if I have to suffer so will the author so it gets a grudging 4 stars.

Completely captivating! The first of its kind book I ever read with just the right blend of romance, thriller, mystery, action, humour and friendships. Once you start, you cannot stop until you finish it. I am obsessed with the blackwood series and read all the books in this series until now and I love each one of them.
