About this ebook

John Hall entered, looking much the same as he did in the field, with his three day growth of beard and his face looking dirty. Brutus barked a warning and sniffed his guest, as if deciding whether he was friend or foe. Hall's attire was the familiar hunting outfit, except that the knife on his thigh was missing. He looked serious and intense. After shaking hands, Ted invited him in. "Ted, you're in big trouble. I saw that thing. There is no way to defend against it. That damn thing is coming here!" Hall stated. "How? Why?" Ted gasped. "You are the only person I will tell this to, and I'll deny I ever said it, because it would make me sound like three levels of crazy. I met a vampire." Hall looked at Ted, as if expecting him to disbelieve. "Where? When?" Ted asked. "We were camping on that boulder, and it was late at night, when the thing landed there. He specifically wants you. It is really pissed! That damn thing could smell the blood from the sliver of your shirt that I was carrying! He picked up Joe with one hand! Hall exclaimed. "He wants me?" Ted asked. "Yeah. He says you killed his mate."

I have read all of Edwin Beckers books except DeathWalker II which I am reading now and The Eleventh Commandment. All of Eds books are truly outstanding with unexpected roller coaster rides of twists and turns that keeps me reading non stop and wanting more! He is an exceptional story teller and up there with the best such as Ray Bradbury, Stephen King, Ambroise Bierce, and William Blatty! I read DeathWalker in two days. I learned a lot about vampires. There is a wealth of knowledge that I did not know such as a vampire has to be be invited before entering a home. No image shows up on a camera or mirror. They can be beheaded and die. Only holy water, a blessed cross, and garlic will keep a vampire at bay. Oh, and the sunlight. They also emit a terrible foul smelling odor that lingers for hours. Not only a stake but also a wooden arrow shot by a bow or cross bow will kill them but has to be in the heart. It is better to have two cross bows loaded in case the first shot misses as there's no time to reload! In addition to the super information about vampires Eds story telling kept me on the edge of my seat! There is suspense, terror, intrigue, horror, and spine chilling surprises! I hope to see this on the big screen someday as I will be the first in line! I highly recommend all of Eds books especially True Haunting about a house he and his wife Marsha bought in 1971 that was possessed with evil spirits and ghosts. This book is the scariest true ghost, horror, paranormal, and occult story I have ever read! It's unbelievably that good! I read it in two days and reading it. True Haunting is the best book I have ever read period.
