In a not-too-distant future, the world is shaped by groundbreaking advancements in technology. One of the most sought-after inventions is the Temporal Echo Device (TED), which allows individuals to communicate with echoes of their future selves. These “echoes” are essentially messages—snapshots of advice, warnings, and glimpses into what might happen in a person's future. The device captures moments of critical choice from the future, transmitted back through a neural link, giving people a chance to change their paths. But what happens when these echoes begin to contradict each other? Are they truly echoes of a future self, or are they mere projections of fear and desire? Can one truly alter their fate, or are they just playing out an illusion of free will?
