Quite enjoyable reading. It may lack a little finesse but the author is not a professional writer but a cop and from theses stories a pretty good cop at that. Should be enjoyed b all cops or retired cops and anyone who enjoys reading true cop stories.

I am a young guy aspiring to become a police officer. I work alongside officers everyday as a CSO. This book had many different aspects of policing in it. I loved the fact that Sgt. Elwood talked about the good and the bad of his career, and I sincerely hope I get to meet him sometime in my life. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the truth, what real policing is like.

About the author
Dick Ellwood is the fourth generation of his family to serve in the Baltimore Police Department. He joined the force after his honorable discharge from the U.S. Marines in 1964. Ellwood attended Essex College and obtained a degree in criminal justice. Now retired, he lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
