How many times is Anne going to go missing? I'm only 1/4 of the way through and she's been removed from Richard's life twice so far. I enjoy good royal/noble scheming and political stories but this is getting monotonous and boring. Sorry. Another book I can't seem to finish. When I don't look forward to reading, then the book is not working for me. Time to move on.

The author decided to write only the dialogue in a dialect that was not in use during the time period that this book is set in(war of the roses). Since only the dialogue is written this way the book is jumpy. She also decided to name her character a name that not only didn’t exist at that point but would absolutely not have been used by a catholic country which is what england was at that time in history.

lengthy but read worthy. I enjoyed each and every word of it. this is so different from all the other historical romances that I ve ever read.
