After Clint Adams and Eclipse are injured in a fall, they are cared for by a lone Indian brave who promises to stay with the horse while Clint goes for help. Clint finds he has a deadly journey on foot ahead of him, to get help for the big Darley Arabian—and himself—or the horse may die. Although successful in getting treatment, Clint finds that during the time of their recovery they will become embroiled in the problems of a lady rancher whose property is in danger of being bought out from under her.
