Scenarioschrijfster Ellie Lamb vraagt hem uit te zoeken wie haar wil vermoorden, maar wanneer hij bij haar langsgaat in Malibu, is de vrouw nergens te bekennen. Wat hij wel aantreft, is het lichaam van een vermoorde man. En in de uren daarna wordt Archer buiten westen geslagen, achtervolgd door smokkelaars en bijna doodgeschoten.
