About the author

Danilo Lambino is a visionary formulator and the founder of Formulae 8, an R&D consulting and contracting company he established in 2007. Specialising in innovative formulation and product development within the beauty industry, Danilo brings more than two decades of experience in product ideation and formulation. He is dedicated to transforming consumer insights into compelling, effective products and solutions.


Danilo holds a master's degree in material science and engineering from the University of New South Wales in Australia and a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Saint Louis University in the Philippines, providing him with a robust scientific and technical foundation to support his creative ventures.  He’s a holder of several international patents in cosmetics compositions and devices. Prior to founding Formulae 8, Danilo gained valuable R&D experience at Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble.


Based in Sydney, Australia, Danilo has collaborated with a diverse range of clients, working with both international and local beauty brands, technology start-ups, indie beauty, dermatology brands.


Passionate about the intersection of science, technology, art and consumer in beauty, Danilo is deeply engaged in empowering ideas and enabling new discoveries across ingredients, devices and novel delivery systems into products that delight, concepts that are compelling and solutions backed by science. His innovative approach has been recognised with numerous accolades, including the 2010 International Technology Award for developing a groundbreaking melanin spot technology demo kit that showcased a formulation technology he developed and its efficacy in fading melanin.  


As a thought leader in the field, Danilo believes in the importance of evolving with the industry. “Knowing our purpose and intention empower us to thrive creatively in a beauty world that often demands more than we can give”, Danilo states, underscoring his commitment to maintaining a forward-looking perspective in product development.
