Connie Palmen (25 november 1955) behoort tot de belangrijkste Nederlandse schrijvers van deze tijd. Zowel in haar romans als in haar beschouwingen ontvouwen zich haar briljante stijl en heldere redeneertrant. Zij debuteerde in 1991 met de juichend ontvangen en veelvuldig vertaalde roman De wetten.
