Seven centuries later, in 1853, Tulo Hök is trying to keep his hungry little sister fed in the quiet lakeside town of Sigtuna, Sweden. During yet another grueling odd job, he stumbles across strange relics in the ruins of St. Olof’s Church—and accidentally triggers a hidden mechanism.

In the nearby forest, something impossible stirs: a colossal stone structure begins to rise from the earth.

At first, Tulo hopes the discovery might offer a way to provide for his sister. But as he ventures deeper into the forest, it becomes clear the ancient edifice is no forgotten ruin—it’s a doorway to something far older and far more dangerous.
