Kuhusu kitabu pepe hiki

This book integrates several research papers on climate resilient building techniques and materials, particularly in the context of India, and fills a major research gap for the construction of durable and resilient structures that can further endure an aggressive environment for the intended service life. The book will cover major factors that contribute to the premature deterioration of concrete structures in aggressive environments, factors related to the development of cost-effective concrete mix design to enhance the durability of future structures, and recommendations on improvements in construction practice and workmanship which are necessary to improve the service life of structures. It is anticipated that the themes and suggestions presented in this publication will increase the visibility of research being conducted in India on these crucial topics and give the financial industry insights into creating new, climate-resilient materials for enhancing infrastructure serviceability.

Kuhusu mwandishi

Dr B. B. Das is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, India. After completing his PhD at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, in 2007, he worked for two years as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Centre for Innovative Materials Research (CIMR), Lawrence Technological University, Southfield, Michigan, USA. His current research interests include design and development of sustainable construction and building materials leading to net-zero carbon emission, microstructure and durability of concrete, construction planning and practices. In an era when environmental concerns were at the forefront of global discussions, Prof. Das recognized the urgent need to revolutionize the construction sector and developed Sustainable Construction and Building Materials Laboratory (SCBM Lab) in 2018 at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, a specialized lab that practices the theme “Sustainability”. He has co-authored around 150 scientific and technical publications (SCI/SCOPUS) in the area of construction materials.
