In der Christologie der letzten Jahre sind äußerst spannende Diskurskonstellationen wahrzunehmen. Von einem auch nur ansatzweisen Konsens sind die Theologinnen und Theologen jedoch weit entfernt. Im Hintergrund all der heterogenen Ansätze stehen essenzielle Anfragen der Moderne, die zu gravierenden Transformationen in der Christologie führten. In deren Folge geriet die altkirchliche Christologie in eine tiefe Krise. Die Schlüsselbegriffe: "Geschichte" – "Metaphysik" – "Anthropologie". In diesem Kontext entwickeln die Autorinnen und Autoren des Bandes ihre christologische Konzeption im Rahmen eines kohärenten Verständnisses von Moderne. Daraus ergibt sich eine systematische Geschlossenheit im Grundansatz.
