Captain E.S. Geary is a Chartered Surveyor in Admiralty and Maritime and Senior Member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in London. He provides professional and technical services to a wide range of international clients with marine interests. Holding advanced credentials and qualifications in the nautical field he frequently is engaged as an expert witness. His work also involves the investigation of losses, claims and the world wide valuation of yachts and ships. His interest in writing came about as a result of his personal involvement with the cases he has dealt with during his always exciting, but sometimes dangerous career. Before opting for early retirement he served 16 years as a senior officer expanding the interests and influence of the United States Coast Guard in the Caribbean and Latin America. Recognizing his accomplishments, Captain Geary was requested to train and expand the Para-military naval components of a friendly South American country and ally of the United States. The success of his efforts, soon acknowledged by the country’s Minister of Defense and the Commander of the Navy, brought about his commission with the rank of Captain in the country’s Naval Forces.
