Annually above 8 lakh students appear for the SSLC exams every year and a vast majority of them are from the rural background. About fifteen per cent of them fail to pass in English. Many findings suggest that the rural students’ weak background in English.
Chandranna N.S. is a senior teacher in English with varied interests like literature, humanities and current affairs. He has served in the village schools of Southern Karnataka and is intimately connected with the local socio economic issues of the communities. He has taught English for people with English as first language, second and third language as well as for the students in the college. As a result he knows the pulse of the village brought up pupil appearing for the board exams for the first time. His sole intention in writing this book is to instil confidence in them and help overcome their fear psychosis and go ahead in their carrier
