This was another great instalment in the On My Own series, getting to know the characters more and their interactions and connections. Mackenzie we know as she was dating one of the boys roommates, but since that blew up... she is looking for a rebound to be able to move on. Pacey knows Mackenzie from the house and considers her a friend... and aren’t you supposed to help friends!? This is an enjoyable instalment in these college set, coming of age, romance adventures. The stories are building in depth and intrigue as we get to know all the characters better, making a richer story and making you impatient to find out more and get the next instalment! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

A friends to lovers romance with so much heat and heart it had me unable to put this down. I practically devoured this in one sitting because I am sucker for this trope and Pacey was just swoon-worthy all around. Mackenzie was fun and nerdy and relatable. The relationship itself seemed real and not like you were reading a book. I could feel their emotions and found myself reading this like a movie.

This is my first book by Carrie Ann Ryan and what a treat. It was a different change of pace from the darker and grittier books I've been reading lately, and I very much enjoyed this! My Rebound is the second book in the On My Own series, which focuses on a group of eight college friends and their relationships with each other. My Rebound is the story of Mackenzie, who has just broken up with her longtime boyfriend after discovering him cheating, and Pacey, who seems to have not gotten serious with anyone. Pacey and Mackenzie are friends, and Pacey offers to serve as her "rebound" to help her move on from what happened. What starts off as friends testing the waters, takes a turn for the romantic. However, both of them have a number of complications in their lives. Mackenzie is having problems with one of her professors and placement she needs and Pacey with his family. I very much enjoyed reading about Mackenzie and Pacey - this was a sweet romance and I can't wait to read the next installment in the series. I should also note that although there was a lot mentioned from the first book, I hadn't actually read that yet and had no problem keeping up or following along. Planning to read My First Glance next! I received an Advanced Reader Copy and have voluntarily left an honest review.
