About the author

Bethanie Hestermann writes animal-science books for children. She is passionate about educating others on animals and wildlife conservation through books, magazine articles, social media content, and blogs. She has also taught as a volunteer at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California, USA.

Josh Hestermann is a zoologist at the Orange County Zoo, California, USA. He previously worked at the California Science Center, the Aquarium of the Pacific, with marine mammals at Brookfield Zoo, and as a keeper, presenter, and educator at Phoenix Zoo. He has led research trips to study California sea lions in Mexico and participated in the Chicago Zoological Society's Sarasota Dolphin Research Program. Josh has contributed to conservation efforts for everything from sea otters to bluebottle butterflies.
