The idea here is to help coordinate the pickers so you all have solos to play and they can be played in the same key. What a concept - a "Band in the Book". Within these pages you will find solos for the entire band: lead guitar, rhythm guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and bass. The mandolin and fiddle share the same tunings so their solos are just written once for both. If you are just starting out and you are having difficulty-finding solos for your level - look no more. These solos are written for the beginner level student assuming you can already play a few simple solos or lead breaks. This series will help you to learn solos on multiple instruments, help organize ensemble play, help develop a steady sense of timing and give you hours of enjoyment as well.

Yazar hakkında

Steve Kaufman's father was a jazz piano player, and his mother was a classically trained pianist. At four Steve started plinking at the piano and did so for several years. He then moved on to the electric guitar at 10 years old for a few years and put it away.

Next the Cello for a few years then back to the acoustic guitar again. His brother, Will, started playing banjo and his instructor told him he needed a rhythm guitar player to help keep time. So Steve picked up his guitar again and got into bluegrass rhythm.

He began producing books and videos in 1989 after teaching private lessons for close to 20 years. His catalog of instructional materials is now over 100 items. Steve began touring the world conducting seminars, workshops, clinics and concerts in 1990 and after 5 years he and his wife, Donna, began "Steve Kaufman's Flatpicking Camp."

Since 1990 Steve has developed the reputation of being the "World's Guitar Instructor."

Steve stays busy with running his Kamps, tour schedule and teaching his online live group lessons.
