About this ebook

Hydrogels in Orthopaedic Tissue Engineering: Advances in Bone and Cartilage Regeneration is a comprehensive evaluation of new and existing biomaterials transforming orthopedic care: in particular, it examines the science and application of hydrogels, showcasing their remarkable ability to mimic natural tissue environments, promote healing, and integrate seamlessly with the body. It reviews recent advances in hydrogel technology, including their design, synthesis, and functionalization for enhanced biocompatibility and mechanical properties. Each chapter provides an in-depth analysis of hydrogel-based strategies for repairing and regenerating bone and cartilage, addressing critical challenges such as vascularization, cell differentiation, and long-term stability. Through detailed case, the book offers invaluable insights for researchers, clinicians, and biomedical engineers - Provides a comprehensive and up-to-date resource that bridges the gap between cutting-edge research and clinical application in the field of regenerative medicine - By compiling real-world case studies, it addresses the urgent need for effective biocompatible solutions that can improve patient outcomes and advance the field of tissue engineering - Addresses the critical problem of effectively treating bone and cartilage injuries, which are often challenging due to the limited capacity for natural healing and the complexity of these tissues - Covers the design, synthesis, and application of hydrogels, detailing how these materials can be engineered to mimic the natural extracellular matrix, support vascularization, and deliver bioactive molecules that enhance tissue regeneration
