The child nursing is very difficult to understand, but author has made it very simple. To make the understanding easier author has elaborated it with the help of diagrams. This book describes in detail the various aspects in the growth of a child, right from the care of an infant, his upbringing, his protection, the care to be taken at the hospital as well as after bringing the baby home, the diseases, their signs and symptoms, the preventive methods, the mode of treatment and special care, etc. author has also given detailed information of many welfare schemes for children. This book is the first of its type, before this I have not come across any such book, which is written especially for the babies. This book will be very useful for the students of nursing college, but it will be a great guide to all parents while nurturing their babies.

सुधा पाटील नर्सिंग या विषयात बीएस्सी तर समाजशास्त्र विषय घेऊन एमएपर्यंत शिक्षण त्यांनी पूर्ण केले. वैद्यकीय क्षेत्रात त्यांनी ३२ वर्षे काम केले आहे. सध्या त्या सी.पी.आर. हॉस्पिटल, कोल्हापूर येथे नर्सिंग ऑफिसर / प्रिन्सिपॉल आहेत. टीएनआय (ट्रेन्ड नर्सेस असोसिएशन ऑफ इंडिया) आणि एसएनए (स्टुडन्ट नर्सेस असोसिएशन) यांनी आयोजित केलेल्या अनेक परिषदांना त्या उपस्थित राहिल्या आहेत. ‘टीएनएआय’च्या त्या आजीव सदस्या आहेत. सलग दोन वर्षे एसएनए युनिट अ‍ॅडवायजर म्हणून त्यांनी झोपडपट्टीतील लोकांसाठी आरोग्यविषयक प्रदर्शने भरवणे, विविध स्पर्धा आयोजित करणे असे कार्य केले आहे. ‘जीएनएम’ आणि ‘एएनएन’ या कोर्सेससाठी विद्याथ्र्यांची निवड करणाNया समितीतील त्या एक सदस्या आहेत. परिवार नियोजन, पल्स पोलिओ, एड्स, रक्तदान शिबिरे यासारख्या राष्ट्रीय पातळीवर चालणाNया आरोग्यविषयक मोहिमांचे त्यांनी संयोजन व व्यवस्थापन केले आहे.

१९९१मध्ये त्यांना डीएचएस या संस्थेने परदेशात नर्सिंगचे प्रशिक्षण देण्याच्या ‘कोलंबो प्लॅन’चे सदसत्व देऊ केले. या क्षेत्रातील नवनवीन माहिती अद्ययावत असावी या हेतूने त्या विविध विषयांवरील जवळजवळ तीस परिषदांना हजर राहिल्या आहेत.

स्त्रियांना प्रशिक्षित केल्याबद्दल आणि त्यांच्या प्रगतीसाठी कार्य केल्याबद्दल सुधा पाटील यांना कोल्हापूर येथील सार्वजनिक कल्याण संस्थेकडून ‘समाजभूषण पुरस्कार’ प्रदान केला गेला.
